The Canadian Open – An Ultimate Test

Most dancers dream of getting detailed feedback on their performance during a competition instead of just a ranking of 1st to 6th place. With An Ultimate Test, DanseSport Québec is giving you exactly that! A virtual evaluation by internationally-renowned professionals and former champions who will give you written comments and a detailed score on components of your dancing such as footwork and musicality.

Submission Dates: August 19, 2020 – September 15, 2020 (extended for our last minute dancers!)
Gala Date: September 20, 2020

The Evaluators

How it Works

After uploading your dance videos, each of our professionals will evaluate your performance based on the following criteria: Footwork, Balance, Movement, Body Action, Musicality, Partnering, Choreography, Posture, and Presentation. Each of these abilities will be evaluated on a scale of 1 to 10 and an overall score along with the detailed components will be sent to you. You will also receive the overall average of the dancers in your category so that you are able to benchmark your performance. Finally, there will be the possibility of getting a qualitative assessment of your dancing from the evaluator of your choice.

The Gala

The results for each category will be unveiled during a virtual gala where the winner’s videos will be played and prizes will be won. The details of the gala will be released at a later date.
